Amen. 1Timothy 1:17 What would you say to someone who says, “I have never seen God, nor have you.  How do you know what you believe is true and mine is not?” First, we have to consider that there things which are invisible to the eye and yet we are confident and trust that they exist:   Numbers and Mathematical equations Theories Thoughts  Feelings The whole universe. It is because God is Spirit, which is a higher form of existence. Another philosophical term for God is that He is incorporeal - meaning to be without the composition of physical matter. IS GOD REALLY NECESSARY? - THE ASEITY OF GOD

Necessarily God “He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.” Acts 17:25­ “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.” Rom. 11:36 “In the beginning God …”   That kind of sums it all up.   The first statement in all of scripture does not reason for the existence of God.   It does not explain who He is or what He has done.  It doesn't need to because that statement is the source of all epistemology, the beginning of all reason and logic.  It simply states that which is – God is.  All that is is because He is.  He is alive, real, true, and living.   There is ancient, mind boggling philosophical concept called the Aseity of God.   The term Aseity comes from Latin aseite , meaning, "of oneself".   It gives the idea of self-existence and self-sufficiency.   In terms of God, it means that He is The Necessary Being. ...

THE JEALOUS GOD

The Jealousy of God “I will not give my glory to another.”   Isa 42:8   For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. Deuteronomy 4:24 1 a : intolerant of rivalry or unfaithfulness  b : disposed to suspect rivalry or unfaithfulness. Merriam-Webster, 1996 That’s a wild concept - God being jealous. But isn’t that a bad thing? We no doubt have images in our mind of a jealous person who clings, oppresses, acts out in rage, suspects continually and only wants things and people for their own cause. They are jealous because they need the things or the people to make them happy and secure. That’s the ugly and down side of jealousy. There is however a beautiful upside to jealousy. Think about it. Wouldn’t we be upset if one we loved was not jealous for us? Don’t they care that their relationship with me may be taken away? Am I important enough for them to be upset if they lost me?
