GOD THE JUDGE

"And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must render an account." Hebrews 4:13

What is it that makes a good judge? A good Judge must have a thorough knowledge of the law. They must possess fairness, have integrity and keen discernment. But no matter how good the judge is, they must have the authority and power to execute their judgment.

The Lord is a fulfillment of all that is required for a good judge. He has a thorough knowledge of the law because He wrote the law. He is the standard. He is fair, as He is not dissuaded by reputation. He has integrity because He is faithful unto all that He is and says.

No one can slip one by Him or deceive Him, for He is all knowing - knowing not only all our actions, all the surrounding events but also all the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. He is the key witness and the expert witness. As the God of truth, He knows all truth. No one will find loopholes in which to turn Him. He cannot be manipulated emotionally or dissuaded by outside effort. God cannot be overruled for He is the Highest, the Supreme Court in Himself. His judgments are final. He alone is the only one to whom we appeal for mercy. His mercy is the only mercy that is needed and that counts.

The Lord is not only the Judge, but also the final jury and the executioner of the pronounced judgment. He is also the prosecutor. He is the one that all crimes ultimately have been committed against.

As the Judge, God is the arbitrator of what is good and what is evil. The Lord is not only making the determination of right and wrongs committed but also enacting the judgment on behalf of those determinations. He rewards and blesses as much as He condemns and punishes. His payback is the best and most rightful payback, both now and for eternity.

He is The Judge.
He is judging now.
He will judge in the end - when all the affects of sin and righteousness have born their fruit. As much as the effects of Hitler still are bearing fruit to this day, so are the righteous acts of Billy Graham, DL Moody, MLK Jr. and even yours done in faith.

Here is the judgment we, as followers of Christ, will face -

... Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God. 1 Corinthians 4:5

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil. 2 Corinthians 5:9–10

8 Finally the crown of righteousness is reserved for me. The Lord, the righteous Judge, will award it to me in that day—and not to me only, but also to all who have set their affection on His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8

The Final Judgment of all the rest of humanity -

11 Then I saw a large white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened—the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire. 15 If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:11–15
